The second screen feature on Amazon Fire TV lets you connect your Fire TV with your Fire Phone or tablet. This further allows you to watch videos and view pictures across both the device screens. Using this feature, you can mirror the contents of your Fire Phone or Tablet on to the TV screen.
Support & Compatibility
The second screen feature is compatible with the following Fire devices.
Fire HD 6, 7, 8, 8.9 and 10
Kindle Fire HDX
Kindle Fire HD 2nd Generation

Before you get started, please make sure you are connected to the internet. Also, make sure that both the devices are connected to the same internet or home Wi-Fi network.
Sign in on both the devices with the same Amazon account.
Go to your Fire TV settings and turn ‘on’ Second Screen Notifications. You can do that by going into Settings > Display & Sounds > Second Screen Notifications.
Using Second Screen Feature
On your Fire Phone or Tablet, choose the video that you want to play on your Fire TV screen.
Once you have decided which video you want to play, make a selection by tapping on the Second Screen icon on top of the Watch Button. The icon is indicated by an up arrow over the small computer screen.
Select your Fire TV device from the list.
Play the video on your Fire Phone or Tablet and it will be displayed on the Fire TV screen.
Once the video is playing on your Fire TV screen, you can also control the playback options right from your Phone/Tablet.
How To Exit Second Screen?
Another interesting thing you can do with the second screen is that you can exit the second screen on your phone or tablet while the video is still playing on the Fire TV screen. That way, you can perform other tasks on your phone or tablet. You can always go back to the second screen to control playback settings or change the video. To do that, swipe down from the top of your phone. From the notification bar, select the video and then tap on Join Now. Doing this will take you back to the playback session.
