What is Load Testing?

Load testing is also known as Performance Testing which determines the software performance related to API for real-life conditions. This testing helps to determine that how the application behaves when multiple users access the API simultaneously.

This testing usually identifies -

• Used to measure the maximum operating capacity of the software.
• Determine whether current infrastructure(i.e browser version) is sufficient to run the software
• Sustainability of software with respect to its maximum users loaded at peak hours.
• Maintain the scalability to allow more users to access the software and application.

Some following types of configuration for load testing.

1. Most of the time user used the application or software for transactions purpose, which may put an impact on the performance of all types of the other transactions ( i.e like send and receive) if they are not efficient.

2. At least for one non-editing transaction should be included in the test suite for users, so that performance related to such transactions can be differentiated from other more complex transactions.

3. As per the failure of the transaction under the loading of the system is the most important transactions that facilitate the core objectives of the system.

4. At least for one editable transaction should be included in the test suite for users, so that performance related to such transactions can be differentiated from other transactions.

5. Observe the breaking of API when no. of users attempts transactions at the same time So that TE and developers came to know about the loading effect of API's.

6. The observation should be on API's related to their mean time taken to run a single API with maximum no. of users at a time(i.e 1000 users) of various records.

Note:- Important load testing tools are load runner, win runner, Blazemeter, and JMeter.
