Basic Introduction of Katalon Studio

Katalon Studio is a tool which helps you to automate your web and mobile applications testing so it uses Selenium and Appium Libraries. This tool is only available for Windows and Mac OS. It has provided very good GUI where you can start creating and managing your test cases. The advantage of Katalon Studio is that it is freely available or open source.

What can we do with Katalon Studio:

i) We can automate the web and mobile applications.

ii) We can perform Web services(API) testing.

iii) We can record and playback also with this tool.

iv) We can do cross-browser testing using Katalon studio.

v) It supports multiple browsers as well.

v) It has Integration with Test Management tools like Jira and qTest.

How to download Katalon Studio

Step 1: Go to Google, Type Katalon Studio and click on the very first link "https://www.katalon.com/".

Step 2: Now from the Katalon Studio homepage click on the Free Download  Button.

Step 3: Create an account for Katalon.

Step 4: As soon as you create an account it will start downloading.

How to install Katalon Studio:

Step 1: Go to your download folder and unzip that.

Step 2: Open the Folder "Katalon_Studio_Windows_64-5.8.0" and double click on Katalon.

Step 3: It will ask for Email and password. Enter Email and Password which you provided at the time of signup.

Now It will start our Katalon Studio.

ii) How to write Selenium Script manually by using Katalon Studio.

iii) How to import and export Selenium script by using Katalon studio.

a) It is one of the selenium recorder which allows us to record and playback web application in the browsers.

b) It will allow you to generate, edit and execute test cases quickly.

c) Katalon Recorder support Java, Ruby, C#, Python, Groovy and Robot Framework.
