Nowadays, the major push towards agile methodology can be seen in the IT sector.
One of the major benefits of using Agile methodology is it provides a clear picture to all the team – may it be a client or a BA or a developer and a tester. It provides an easy track to all the progress made on each day.
Rally – one of the most popular tools used in Agile. Rally is a project management tool that can be accessed from a variety of browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer (Version 9 onwards).It works on a number of Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux, and Mac. It provides a real picture to stakeholders about the various commitments made.
User Stories: Under “Plan”, one can find “User Stories” tab, where all the user stories and estimates are displayed. Work progress for each story can be easily seen via the status of the tasks of it.
Iteration Status: One of the commonly used tabs is “Iteration Status” under “Track”. It provides you the data about the user stories and defects involved in a particular iteration.
On clicking the Iteration Status, user will be navigated to below page :
Here, the user can see the list of various iterations along with the dates they had happened. By default, the page will display the data for the current iteration and all the user stories/defects for the current iteration.
Team Status: The second important tab is Team Status under “Track”. It provides you data about the estimated and actual capacity for all the team members along with the tasks assigned to them.
Defect Status: Under “Quality” tab, you can find Defects tab. On clicking Defects, user will get the list of all the defects logged along with the defect priority and severity.
