Steps to install and configure VMWare

• Download VMWare workstation trial version set up file

• Install VMWare on machine. Setup is simple and requires to click next button many times

• After installation open VMWare workstation by using menu start or shortcut created on desktop

• Click on “create new virtual machine”

• With default, click on next button

• Specify part of operating system setup file

• Now need to specify key or serial number of operating system. If using trial version then you can skip it

• Enter name of virtual machine and specify part of directory where you want to create virtual machine. Drive which you are selecting to install virtual machine must be enough space

• Specify amount of disk space you want to allocate for virtual machine. Allocate disk space according to size of software to install on virtual machine

• On next screen it will display configuration selected for virtual machine

• It will allocate hardware according to default settings but you can change by using customize hardware button

• Click on finish button to create virtual machine at specified location with specified resources

• Saving in terms of resources, space and energy

• It allows to create full fledged , cost effective test lab which might be almost not possible without it

• With migrate, clone and snapshot features it’s not difficult to copy, revert back to fresh environment and carrying virtual machine
