Why Use J Meter For Testing

Its main aim is designed to load test functional behavior and measure performance. Its main aim is to surveying and estimating the performance of web applications or range of services. performance testing means testing a web application for heavy load, multiple and simultaneous user traffic. It is basically used for testing web application or FTP application. For the time being, it is used for the functional test, database server test etc.
The protocols which have been used by JMeter are:
-Web:HTTP,HTTPS sites 'web 1.0'web 2.0 (
-Web services: SOAP/XML-RPC
-Database via JDBC drivers
-Directory LDAP
-Messaging-oriented service via
Benefits of JMeter:
-It is an open source software, it can be freely available.
-It is easy to use and understand GUI.
-Its full multi-threading framework permits concurrent sampling by many threads and concurrently sampling of the huge range of functions by separate thread groups.
- It is highly susceptible.
- It can also be used to perform computerized and functional testing of the applications.
Access log sampler is very useful in JMeter which has been explained as below:
1. Slightly than guess what users are doing, the test plan is manipulating real traffic data
2. as the traffic design changes, the access log gives a information of individual changes and general shifts in consumption
3. It contains a lot of important data, which may give some insight
4. It can be minded to regulate different types of users
5. It can hold detailed session information
The downside of utilizing access logs for test plans is you have to manage the web server to output the request information. It is not so much appropriate where security is a problem.
1. security sensitive applications where the data is coded.
2. the application does not permit fine grain reign of which request parameters are written to the access logs
3. the web server cannot be layout to attach the post data to the access log
4. the web server is organizing multiple applications, but doesn't provide a way to log them, but doesn't give a way to log the requests of one application to a separate file.
