Workflow is the combination of statuses and transitions that an issue follow through during its lifecycle. Jira ships with the default system workflow and cannot be edited but you can make copies of this workflow to creating your own workflows.
Let's get started
First you have to admin access to create Workflow , Login with Admin user.
go to Settings -> issues -> Workflows
In workflows you will see two options:->
1. Add workflow
2. Import from marketplace
Select "Add workflow"
Now enter name and description according to your project requirement.
i am giving name is "test" and description is "this workflow for testing project"
Now you can add "status" and "transitions" according to your requirement.
Now i am creating a common workflow.
to add Status select "add status" and to add transitions select "add transitions"
I have added five status
1. To Do
2. In progress
3. Resolved
4. Ready for QA
5. Closed
Now i will arrange all status according to requirement.
By default arrows goes to "open" status but i changed to it "To Do" staus
now i can remove "open" status from my workflow.
Now i will go To Do status to In progress status i will give Transition name like "ToDo-to-In progress"
Now you can add transitions and create your own workflows easily.
After creation your workflow looks like.
Now attach you workflow with your project
go to "projects" and select your project name and then select "settings" and you will see "workflow" option select it.
you will see add workflow options you click this option
you will see two options. select first options that is "Add existing" scroll down arrow and select your workflow.
Now Publish your workflow with your project, If you not publish this workflow you can not see your workflow with your project.
Remember if you have attached another workflow with your project it will remove automatically when you will publish your workflow with project.
