Apple watch

Apple watch was launched with such high hopes, but it didn't prove to be a game-changing product. When it comes to health the Apple has always focused on every small detailing. Apple watch is more than a smartwatch now and can be called as a health tracker as it keeps an eye on users health. According to a report, Apple could keep a track on an abnormal heart rate. It can track symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, it even tracks your heart rate and can detect the early sign of any heart disease. It can predict the heart attacks before they happen. This would change the whole purpose of Apple watch.

According to a study conducted by University of California, San Francisco, and cardiogram app team, this built-in monitor for heart rate is 97 percent accurate. It detects the abnormal heart rate rhythm and proved to be far better than everyone thought. People have discovered that apple watch is as accurate as an electrocardiogram.

How it works?
Apple watch app developers worked in collaboration with the University of California San Fransisco’s research team. They developed mRythm, their researchkit study. Apple watch has an accurate heart rate sensor. They collected around 100 million heart rate data points, all of them used Cardiogram app on their apple watch.  from more than 6,000 Apple Watch users. Some of them had normal EKG readings while some suffer from artificial fibrillation. Cardiogram developed an algorithm based on machine learning, to detect atrial fibrillation, which is often asymptomatic. The heart rate sensor picks up artificial fibrillation which can cause the stroke or heart disease. There are various factors for abnormal heart rate which includes blood pressure. Cardiogram says that it can determine the artificial fibrillation successfully.

Cardiogram is a startup, its main aim is to gather information from apple watch. It also detects conditions other than artificial fibrillation. The further testing is even required to detect other conditions continuously. The results were pretty good and apple watch shows that it can be an anyone's health monitor. It immediately sends an alert if someone is soon to have a heart attack or stroke. It then prompts medical therapy for atrial fibrillation. In the near future, there are chances to detect that a person is likely to have a heart attack in the next three days. Apple has always put an effort to make an impact in medical research for that they have also hired a team of medical experts. Although FDA approval would be the toughest part.
