The Mobile Payment Service by Google i.e Android Pay is expanding further and further with new tie-ups and new partnerships. As a matter of fact, it’s been roughly a year since the arrival of Android Pay services. But the growth shown by it in such a short span of time is absolutely phenomenal. Today, Android Pay services are available in five major countries including US, UK, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Besides that, hundreds of thousands of new retailers are now accepting NFC payments. Google proclaims that the Android Pay users will soon be able to make online payments on hundreds of websites as well.

Another great news comes amidst this chain of events. Android Pay has now partnered with Visa and MasterCard to expand its services. With these partnerships, the users will be able to make payments using Android Pay on all those websites that support Visa Checkout and MasterPass for payments.

Using Android Pay For Online Payments

Following the alleged partnership with Visa and MasterCard, the Android Pay users will be able to make online payments on thousands of websites. Although Android Pay was primarily meant for offline payments based on NFC, it doesn’t mean it would be restrained to that. Nevertheless, it had been necessary to take this step to remain in the competition partly because Apple Pay is frequently making its market.

In order to get started with Android Pay, the users will first need to download the Android Pay Application on their smartphones. The next step will be to link your account with the Android Pay app. And once you are done with that, you’re all set. It’s up to you whether you want to use your Android Pay wallet for online payments or offline payments.

Availability

Google has made the announcement but the services will be live in 2017. The Android Pay app is being integrated with MasterPass and Visa checkout. The update however, is expected to arrive during the first quarter of 2017. This time too, Google is following the same old strategy to start the rollout. The services will be live in US first and then it would slowly expand to the other countries.

This partnership might prove to be the next big achievement for the company and it would definitely contribute a lot to streamline the Android Pay services. This is because Visa Checkout and MasterPass are used as payment gateways in countless websites including popular shopping sites like Amazon and eBay. So clearly, this partnership will open new doors for Google to make its Android Pay services available worldwide.
