A Brief Explanation of Cross Browser Testing

What is Cross-Browser Testing-> Here we are talking about the web application. The functionality of the web application is tested in all the browsers. Developer develops the web application for a particular browser but the user can use any browser for the application. In this case, tester do the cross-browser testing. Cross Browser testing ensures that UI and functionality of the application do not differ from different browsers.

Why Tester need the Cross-browser testing-> Web application is working in a Chrome browser. Sometime when the user uses the other browser with another system then it might have the issue with the application.
The faced issue is given below:
Functionality might not be working properly.
Different screen size may affect the UI.
Buttons may not respond properly.

Type of Cross Browser Testing:

Standard Multi-Browser Testing-> This is the most common type of testing done by the tester looks consistent across various browsers such as IE, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. This type of test can be conducted on one System by opening each browser individually one by one. In this testing, only one person is required for application testing.

Multi-Version Testing-> In this type of testing, Application is tested on more than one version of the browser, such as Google-Chrome 50 onwards or IE 9, IE 10. A single tester is active during the testing.  The tests are conducted on multiple System with the different version of browsers. Sometimes browsers do not support different versions of the same System.

Concurrent Testing-> Concurrent testing is testing by a couple of browsers at the same time. tester ensures that at a time both the browser have same UI and functionality. The last stage of the testing is cross-browser testing.

Conclusion-> Cross-browser testing is very important for user point of view. User can't understand the issue in the application when he uses that. After Facing issue he never comes to our application again.
