Google Assistant Smart Displays Are Coming This Year

People have been waiting for Google to launch its Assistant device with a screen from quite a long time now. Google is all set to compete with Amazon Echo Show with this voice-controlled virtual assistant. The assistant device can be connected to the internet and you can ask anything you want. The device will then give you the right information. The device looks just like a tablet as it has a screen which shows relevant information on it.

It will be able to do some important tasks such as setting alarm, video calls, traffic update, play music, weather report, switching off lights or doors and much more through voice commands. The device even lets you watch YouTube Videos. The reply will the appear on the screen. Surprisingly, this device works great in the kitchen as you can get the full recipe while making a meal. When you are not using the device and is idle, it will show you the photos from your Google Photos. They are planning to launch the product designed by LG Electronics, Lenovo, JBL and Sony this year.

These devices are based on the Qualcomm SD624 Home Hub Platform. It will be available in two sizes, one in 8 inches and other in 10 inches. Both the sizes are chromecast compatible hence they will be able to cast videos from different apps. The device is made with two chips ie. SDA 624 and SDA 22.

Lenovo’s 8 inches device costs $200 and the 10 inches display device costs you $250. While the cost of others are not yet decided yet. Google even lets the developers write. Currently, both Siri And Cortana are not available on this device. The device does not provide the facility of internet browsing and app installation. These devices will have all the connectivity options. These tablet looking smart devices are powered by Android.
