New Facebook Feature Lets You Easily Find WiFi

Facebook has rolled out a new ‘Find Wi-Fi” feature. This will make it easy for everyone to find the nearby wifi connection. Currently, this feature is available to selected number of countries. Although this feature is not available worldwide because currently it is in the testing phase but they are planning to expand this feature. This feature has finally launched in India as well. After getting an update, you will be able to see Find Wi-Fi feature in the More tab. It will surely help 2 billion users to stay more connected.

‘Find Wifi’ helps in locating an open WiFi network. It shows user’s surrounding area connections with their network name. It is launched for both Android as well as iOS users. It provides the list of nearby business, malls, cafes, and all other places with public or free Wi-Fi.  On clicking on one of the places you will get directions and options to open a page if you are not in range. Find Wi-Fi feature is a great feature when you have a terrible signal or not having enough mobile data left. A nearby Wi-Fi feature will be really helpful for users to find public Wi-Fi which will help people to use more Facebook Live feature. This feature also shows time till which is open. For this, if your cellular network is not that strong, then also it's not an issue. Apart from using the Facebook live feature, Find Wi-Fi has many other uses like uploading the photo or even making a video to an area where cellular data is scarce. The facility of using it when you have limited data plan then it is very important.

Find wifi becomes handy when you are traveling and low cellular coverage makes it more powerful. After finding the Find Wi-Fi tab, Facebook will show you a hotspot map which shows closest hotspot connection. But it is not that reliable as it might not pick certain locations. It is a great feature to discover local businesses. The user will tune into Facebook instead of google maps to find the certain destination with WiFi. Besides the Wi-Fi connectivity feature, Facebook is working on many more projects like investing in infrastructure around the world, Planning to use solar-powered drones.
