iOS 10 related ongoing issues and their solutions

If you possess an iPad or an iPhone and have updated to iOS10, you must be facing a lot of issues in its functionality, be it slow processing, quick battery drain, spotty bluetooth connectivity or cellular network problem. Let me tell you that you are not alone who is facing the issues as there are many and all are feeling helpless just like you do. There has been some glitch in the coding part related to iOS10 App Development Services by Apple as the inbuilt apps in iPhones are also not stable since the iOS10 update.

Don’t panic as there are some methods and tricks to fix these issues. You just need to perform some iOS10 troubleshooting deeds and we will help you in achieving this.

Let’s take up the most common issues one by one :

#1. Quick Battery Drain

Ios 10.1 will come up very soon to alleviate this issue from its rootcause but till then you can try this to optimize your device’s battery life. Turning off background app refresh in setting could certainty help. Settings>General>Background App Refresh. You will be provided with a list of apps out of which you need to select only important apps to get continuously refreshed in the background and not all.

Turn-off fitness tracking apps and all those which are not that important. Settings>Privacy>Motion and Fitness. If you are equipped with an Apple Watch, you certainly don’t need any kind of fitness tracking on your phone.

Do the correct and intelligent use of Wi-Fi. Make sure to use Wi-fi instead of cellular data when in Home or Office. Only use cellular data while travelling and make sure to switch off Wi-Fi during your commuting time otherwise your phone will keep searching for open Wi-Fi networks available to which you would not be able to connect most of the times.

#2. iOS10 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Problems

Follow this to resolve both your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi issues at the same time. Settings>General>Reset >Reset Network Settings as You would surely want  to avoid Reset All Settings and Erase All Content and Settings.

On selecting Reset Network Settings the data will be kept intact and the wireless connects will come back to the default settings which eventually will solve your issues.

#3. iOS10 Touch ID Issue

If Touch ID is not working and you are not able to configure it after upgradation to ios10, try this :

Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Now put in your passcode. Turn iTunes and AppStore off and now reboot your ios device. Again back to Settings>Touch ID and Passcode Now, you can turn on iTunes and AppStore. Remove and re-scan your fingerprints now, as most probably it will ask you to do so.

To achieve this, follow Settings>Touch ID and Passcode and come down to the list of fingerprints. Select the fingerprint which you would like to delete, select delete and now restart your gadget. Once your Device restarts, go back to Settings and add your fingerprint. Touch ID will now start to work again.

#4. Cellular Network Connection Problem

Updating to ios10 has also created a new network connection problem as you loose the signals all of a sudden, and cannot reconnect even if you have taken your iPhone to an area where you always catch a signal.

Temporary solutions include restarting your iPhone OR turning on airplane mode and then turning it off to reconnect. But what looks the most promising solution would be to reinstall iOS10. What’s new this time is that you need to update by plugging it to your PC or MAC and utilizing iTunes.

#5. Heavy Data Consumption

You must be realising that after updating to ios10, your mobile data allowance is getting consumed at a very high rate. The reason for this could be the wi-fi assist feature. Introduced in iOS 9 this feature tells you when your iPhone or Ipad wi-fi connection is weaker.

And if this is the case, then it automatically makes your phone to switch to mobile data. This means that you are consuming your data allowance without knowing that you are actually doing so. And, in iOS10 version, this feature comes turned on by default.

You need to Turn Off wi-fi assist to overcome this taxing issue and you can do so by following this : Settings>Mobile and then scroll towards the bottom of the menu and you will find an option to turn off Wi-Fi Assist.

#6. iMessage Notifications doesn’t Show Up

In iOS 10 update, this had been seen as one of the most common problems which approximately all the iPhone users are dealing with. iPhone users are not getting notifications about iMessages been sent to them. To get this issue resolved, you need to open Notification Settings in your iPhone by following this : Settings>Notifications>Messages The various toggles against each option must be turned on and your chosen Alert Style should be “Banner”.
