Facebook is by far the world’s largest social media site that apparently has more users than one could possibly imagine. Post the acquisition of popular social image sharing and chatting apps like Instagram and Whatsapp, Facebook has become the most powerful social network throughout the world. Over the years, Facebook’s network has grown like a weed. But for some reason, it doesn’t seem to slow down. Facebook has recently announced the launch of their new teens-only app called LifeStage for iOS users.
The app is built and launched under the lead of Michael Sayman, the youngest product manager at Facebook who had developed the famous photo gaming app called 4 Snaps at the age of 13. With the launch of this new app, Facebook aims to target the younger audiences, especially the high school students. That’s why LifeStage is designed for the people of age 21 or less. Although any iPhone user can download the app, it will only work well for the mentioned age group. In case anyone of age 22 or more uses the app, they will only be able to see their own profile.

Adding More Fun To The High School Days
The app is specially designed for the high school students and it gives them an opportunity to know their classmates better. If you remember, Facebook was started as photo sharing platform for college students. The LifeStage app employs the similar concept except that it is meant for the high school students. With this standalone social app, you can connect with your high school classmates and learn about their likes, dislikes and much more.
The best part is, you don’t even need to have a Facebook account. You can join in all the fun by selecting your high school from the list and it’ll take you to the dashboard where you can see the video profiles of your classmates if they are already using the app. In the news feeds, you’ll be seeing the people from your contacts who have updated their profiles lately. You can tap on it to see the update and you can skip through the different sections just by swiping. LifeStage also let you interact with the students from other high schools who are located nearby yours. But you can’t really chat with those people. Instead, their Snapchat or Instagram id will be visible to you so that you can reach them quickly.
Because Sharing Videos Are Fun
Sharing videos is indeed a fun way to interact with friends and express your feelings. Videos are the future and you might be wondering what took people so long to realize their importance. Snapchat has attained a massive success only because of the video sharing functionality it proffers. There are many other apps that are beginning to integrate video sharing functionalities but LifeStage is the first of its kind. It is the first app that enables you to turn your ordinary bios into video profiles. This is a wise step taken by Facebook to prevent its users from slipping away towards Snapchat and other similar apps. The LifeStage app is only available in the United States so far and is only meant for the iOS users. But if it gets any success, it is very likely to expand.
