Apple Pay

Apple Pay since its inception in October 2014, has turned out to be a game-changer in the field of Mobile Payments. Apple Pay services are now available in 11 countries and the expansion is still going on. This unique mobile payments app lets you make contactless payments on NFC enabled Point-of-Sale terminals. As a matter of fact, NFC based mobile payments are creating quite a stir these days. With so many competitors rising up in the market, things have gotten pretty intense for Apple Pay. But believe it or not, Apple Pay is way ahead in the competition than its competitors like Android Pay and Samsung Pay.

Another brilliant endowment of Apple Pay is that besides making payments at offline stores, it also lets you pay on thousands of online stores as well. All you need to do is, install the Apple Pay app on your iPhone, feed in your account details and start spending money right away. Talking of online payments through Apple Pay, it isn’t always necessary that you pay through your iPhone app every time you buy something at online stores. If convenient, you can do the same thing on your Macbook as well. You just need to set up your Apple Pay Wallet on Mac to enable seamless online transactions on the go. This blog will show you how to set up your Apple Pay Wallet on Mac.

How To Set Up Apple Pay On Mac?

It is better to set up a Touch ID on your Mac before setting up an Apple Pay Wallet. But don’t worry, you can always do that later. So we’ll show you how to set up Apple Pay and create touch ID later. So, first things first.

In order to set up Apple Pay wallet on your Mac, just follow these simple steps.

  • Go to System Preferences and click on Wallet & Apple Pay.

  • Click on Add Card to link your Apple Pay account.

Now you need to enter your card details to the Apple Pay Wallet. There are two ways to do that. The first one is pretty simple but is valid only in case your Mac has a built-in camera. If not so, then you’ll have to go for the second option.

  1. Scan your card via camera.

  2. Enter the card details manually.

Now let’s see how you get it done the second way!

First off, if you have a credit card linked with your iTunes account, it’ll offer you to add the same card to your Apple Pay account. Now it’s entirely up to you whether you want to add the same card or a new one. In case you choose the latter, this is how you proceed.

  • Enter your card details, agree to all the terms and conditions and finally, click on Next. Now it will require bank verification and this verification will ascertain whether the card will be added or not.

  • The bank verification process may vary depending on your bank and its agreement with Apple. The bank might as well as you to provide some additional information to complete the verification. So make a call to your bank and get it done to proceed further.

  • Once you are done with the bank verification, click on Next to finish the process.

When you’re done with all this, your newly added card will be displayed in the top left corner of the screen which indicates that your card has been successfully added. That’s it, you’re done! That’s how you set up Apple Pay Wallet on your Mac devices.
