Samsung AI Chip Will Debut With Galaxy S9 And S9 Plus

There are already many next-generation mobile chips out there in market such as Qualcomm and Huawei. Samsung has been working so hard to join the race by developing AI chips which were formally known as Neural Processing Units. Samsung has unveiled its AI chip known as Exynos 9 series 9810 which will be the part of the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ models. The company is planning to make more advance chips later this year.

The AI chip will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US and an Exynos 9810 SoC in other international markets.The Exynos 9810 has 8 processing cores with 2.9 GHz clock speed, while Apple's NPU has reached 600 GHz speed while. This new Samsung’s AI chip will make the mobile devices more efficient. It has the upgraded processor as well as the neural network capacity for AI-powered apps. The Chip is going to change a lot such as low camera performance which will give the better video quality and will have the capability of recording videos at 4K UHD at 120 frames per second.

 This chip is much better than the last year’s chip. Samsung isn't the first company to include NPU. Apple and Huawei have already added NPU on the A11 Bionic and Kirin 970 SoCs. Although Samsung is quite late to develop its own AI chip in comparison with its competitors, it has made a satisfying product. The NPU or AI chip helps your phone to various functions without using cloud such as analyze, process or even store data.

This will even help in making the Facial recognition feature more accurate. The AI could keep all the information about face, iris as well as your finger or thumbprints safe. The Samsung’s AI chip is a lot similar to the Apple and Huawei chips.
