Roku is rolling out a new software update for its TV OS users. The Roku users can now update to Roku OS 7.5 to enjoy lots of new features. • Live TV Pause

Roku OS 7.5 lets you pause live TV channels so that you can easily resume later from where you left. You can pause a live channel for up to 90 minutes. However, to use this feature, you must also have a Roku TV model along with the streaming media player. Also, you need to connect a USB flash drive of at least 16 GB to your Roku TV for leveraging the real benefits of this feature. The Live TV Pause works equally well for all the Roku TV models.

• Private Mobile Listening

The Private Listening feature isn’t entirely new. It’s already available in some select Roku Players and will now be available to all the Roku TV models by means of OS 7.5 update. This unique feature enables the Roku users to leverage the real benefits of the Roku TV app. By downloading the latest version (v3.6.0) of the Roku TV app on your android or iOS mobile device, you can enjoy private listening on your mobile phones while streaming online media on their TV at the same time. • Better Search Functionality

The Roku OS 7.5 update also improves the traditional search functionality in Roku. You can search for any channel and switch to it in no time. You can search for any movie, any song, actor, singer or director and get the results instantly. The new update speeds up the search process and streamlines the search feature. As you start typing any name in the search toolbar, it starts showing you suggestions underneath almost instantly so that you don’t even need to type the whole thing.

• Extended Support For “Play On Roku”

The Play On Roku feature that enables the Roku users to mirror the content of their mobile phones on the Roku TV screen, now supports multiple mobile devices at the same time. You can now throw the content of multiple android or iOS smartphones right onto your TV screen. It’s just that all the devices must have the latest Roku TV app installed in them and they all must be connected to the same network.     

Other Crucial Bug Fixes

Besides all the new features, OS 7.5 also incorporates several much needed bug fixes. Let’s talk about some of these crucial bug fixes. In Roku 4 streaming player, when the display settings were changed to 4K UHD, it often showed some unwanted content on the upper left corner of the screen which has now been resolved.

There was another issue in several Roku streaming player models that caused the screen to flicker sometimes while playing games. The OS 7.5 update fixes this issue as well. Some Roku TV models often experienced a slight delay in streaming of live media content. This delay won’t be there anymore.
