Siri Data Sync

Siri is undeniably an extremely intelligent feature that is used by all the Apple devices and it’s getting a lot smarter all these days. iOS 10 has been the most significant update for all the iPhone and iPad users. The update not only brought a new fleet of exciting features, it also revamped the UI and UX of the Apple’s mobile operating system. Not to forget, Siri also received a major upgradation with this update, rendering support for many third party applications and numerous other voice commands.

There’s no doubt that the forthcoming iOS 11 update is going to be even bigger from Siri’s perspective. The update is apparently arriving in September 2017 while the developer betas are rolling out pretty quickly. However, it would be too early to talk about the potential features of iOS 11 just yet. Although we have several beta versions of the same, there’s no certainty that the features are not going to change over time. But as it turns out, Siri is allegedly going to support multi-device sync features with the new iOS 11 update. Now you will be able to sync on-device data across all your Apple devices using iCloud.

This data syncing capability in Siri will work on all the Apple powered mobile devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Once it goes mainstream, you will also be able to use it on your Mac with MacOS High Sierra or later. Apple Watch will also support this feature with watchOS 4. Let’s see how you can use this feature on iPhones and iPads. Based on what’s available in the beta versions, here’s how you can do that.

  • Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

  • On the top where it shows your profile photo and name, tap on that photo.

  • A new Apple ID screen will appear with several options.

  • Tap on iCloud > Siri and slide the switch to turn it ‘ON.’

How To Enable It On Mac?

If you are running on MacOS High Sierra or later, you can also enable this data syncing feature on your Mac device. Just follow these simple steps and off you go.

  • Launch the System Preferences app on your Mac.

  • Click on the iCloud icon.

  • Tick mark the Siri icon from the iCloud Preference pane.
