Google Introduces New Search Mode For In App Searches

With so many apps that we use on regular basis, it is never easy to keep a track of all the content that is hidden inside the apps. As a matter of fact, our apps generally contain a large amount of data. And quite often, the content we are looking for is buried deep inside the apps that we have in our smartphones. For instance, we exchange a lot of data and information while chatting with some friend. There are also thousands of messages sent and received by us and so many conversations that it is almost impossible to find a particular message from a chat that happened weeks or even months ago. But thanks to Google, you don’t have to worry about that anymore.
Google has recently introduced a new Search Mode in its renowned Search app called Google Search. The new search mode is named “In Apps” and it lets you find content hidden inside various apps within seconds. The content can be of any type including messages, contacts, audio/video files, notes, important documents and much more. Besides, this new feature is very easy to use. You just need to type the keyword and it’ll instantly give you the list of all the related content along with their location. That’s it! It is as simple as that.

What Makes It Stand Apart?
One of the greatest benefits of using this feature is that your private information is not shared with the remote servers or even Google for that matter. This is because, unlike the ordinary Google searches that take place on remote servers, the “In Apps” searches will take place on your android powered smartphones. And not to forget, the “In Apps” feature works equally well even when you are offline. So, you can perform searches without the need of an internet connection. Google also gives you an option to personalize the In Apps mode specifically for the apps that you want to see. Just go to the app settings and turn the apps ‘on’ or ‘off’ as per your needs. However, the user interface is kept unchanged except for the addition of “In Apps” tab beside the other options at the top.
How To Use The IN APPS Mode?
You can use the In Apps mode for finding literally anything that you think might be buried somewhere inside your apps. For instance, suppose you once had a conversation with one of your friends on Facebook Messenger. And in that particular chat, she told you about a nice Italian restaurant located somewhere in your city. But it’s been months since you’ve had that conversation and it’s getting difficult for you to find the name of that restaurant. That’s when the In Apps search comes to the rescue. Just type any keyword related to that chat, anything that you can remember like the name of the friend and the word ‘restaurant’ and it’ll give all the results related to those keywords. Bingo! You better know what to do after that.
Using the same feature, you can also find music, videos, important notes and documents within seconds.
Google has indexed several apps for its In App Searches including Gmail, Spotify and YouTube. That’s why the “In App” feature currently works for these three apps only. But Google is working on the update and soon it is going to render support for many new apps such as Facebook Messenger, Evernote, LinkedIn, Glide and Google Keep.
