The former employees of Google and Veteran Nuance, a speech recognition had launched an app called Otter which is a free service that lets in transcribing speech by using a not so new technology ie, Artificial Intelligence. In this era of technology, companies are focusing more on Voice assistants such as Google assistant, Amazon Alexa, Siri and much more rather than the voice transcriptions.
The thought came from the Google architect, Sam Liang. The app makes it easy to search through the voice conversation which was earlier quite a difficult process. Are you wondering where will it be helpful? Well, it is needed in the places like interview, meeting, lectures. The purpose of designing this app is to make the whole process of transcribing easy and smooth. The company AISense started this app called Otter with just 15 people from Los Altos. Though Voice transcription is not a new subject but the need for a technology to make the process easier is always necessary.

There are many apps available to us which are which are free but the problem is few of them are not correct. There are few that are accurate are mostly very expensive. Therefore, the Otter app will solve the purpose of those who don't want to spend a lot. The company is confident enough that no other app can work like Otter ie. may be because of the use of AI. They have used the speech recognition algorithms which is already there in Siri, Google assistant and even Amazon Alexa.
Otter is able to understand the whole conversation either big or small. To use the app, all you have to do is install it freely from the app store on your Android or iOS mobiles, then it makes you record the speech by pressing the mic icon. This helps the app in identifying you, wherever you use it. The company has used quite a different technology called Ambient Voice Intelligence which simply means working in the background. The problem with the human brain is, it remembers 10-30% of the information so using this app can be really beneficial. The new Otter's app is available for use on your Android as well as Apple mobile products.
