Newest Roku Update Lets You Pause Live TV

Roku TVs, CNET's favorite entry-level televisions has the best built-in streaming platform and an amazing picture quality. With a new update, Roku lets its users to pause live TV. You can easily pause or play the live broadcast,when your Roku TV is connected through an antenna. This way you will never miss any scene of your favorite show. You don't even need DVR and headphones for that so that you can listen to the audio without even disturbing anyone.

Roku unveils a software update with new features and functionality.

• You can pause the live TV shows anytime.

• DVR is not required

• You can now privately listen to TV audio, using headphones.

• It has introduced a feature called “More ways to watch”. Roku will track your viewing behaviour. It offers viewing suggestions. You will receive pop ups, based on your current viewing.

• You can create a list of all your favorite channels.

• You will get captions on Live TV Pause “replay” feature.

• Other feature includes faster resume from standby.

You have to update your software manually, if your tv is not connected to internet. You have to first download the software on your computer and copy it to a USB drive which should be 266MB or larger. Then, connect your USB flash drive to your Roku TV. “More Ways to Watch”  is most notable feature to arrive. Through the use of Automatic Content Recognition technology (ACR), Tv will recognise the shows you're watching on cable box, antennas or satellite box.

It can see what users are watching through its smart TV interface already based on that Roku will suggest you additional viewing options. Suppose you are watching an old episode, Roku will give you suggestion which are in the form of pop ups. It allows you watch an in-progress show from the beginning. It provides you recommendations for similar shows you are watching, or helps you find episodes of series.

The best part of the update is, you can watch a show without the interruption of commercial breaks. It is bringing more enjoyment to the user experience. However, if you are not comfortable with the idea of being tracked, you can disable the tracking any moment. To view the ACR results you can either click on the right arrow button, or the OK button.You will get ACR results in the dialog box. “More ways to watch” is considered to be the most interesting and exciting feature, which is quite handy. This feature will be supported on 2017 4k, HD and FHD Roku TVs.
