When You are Lost Somewhere in a Remote Location
Consider, it’s a weekend and you have decided to distance yourself from the fast-paced world for sometime and have gone to a remote place just to relax yourself and chill in the free time. Your plans may include a lone tracking expedition in the woods or visiting a tribal area just to experience a different life altogether or to understand the life of people who don’t have access to modern amenities and devices but still somehow survive.
Now, somehow if you have lost your way back to home on these kind of weekend expeditions or trips, it might place you in a big trouble, Correct..? Because Google Maps will not come to your rescue in this kind of situation and you are certainly going to feel helpless in that moment.
So, Don’t worry. Here is an amazing trick to make Google Maps work without any network coverage or data consumption. Mobile App Development has already reached this level of technological advancement so as to make this thing become possible.
Easy Trick to make Google Maps Work When There is No Network
Please do follow the given instructions :
-
Before you head out to such a remote place, you need to open Google Maps when you have a high-speed data connection or Wi-Fi available with you.
-
Secondly, you need to type in “ok maps” in the blank space where Google Maps asks you to enter your destination name.
-
A screen will appear which will ask you that if you want to download the area shown. Please tap on the download button and give a name to this area (recommended to name your exact destination). Don’t worry, if you are not getting any name to your mind, Google Maps will help you suggest a name.
-
Now, hitting the “OK’ button will lead to downloading the area which you have just named. The screen will show you the percentage completion of download. Once it gets completed, you are good to go. Move out of your place and disappear into the wild. Your map is now digitally saved on your Android or iOS smartphone.
Task completed.. ! Now you are free to access every single feature on Google Maps while being offline like asking for directions, zooming in and out on the navigation screen etc. You will now be able to roam in the remotest of locations with no worries at all in regard to finding directions on the way back to home.
