How To Locate Your Lost Airpods Using Find My iPhone

Apple’s Airpods were introduced last year with the launch of iPhone 7 during the Keynote event. Ever since their launch, they have long been a matter of concern. Airpods are small and wireless and without the cord, they don’t have much mass either. So if by any chance, you lose any of these airpods somewhere, it will cost you a fortune. If we have a look at the probable scenarios, there are a number of ways you can lose your Airpods. Thankfully, Apple has finally added support for the Airpods in Find My iPhone app that will help you locate your missing Airpods using the app. The feature works with iOS 10.3 or later. If you have enabled Find My iPhone on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch that you use with your Airpods, it is automatically activated for your Airpods as well.

So if your Airpods are missing, you can use the app to locate them if they are somewhere close by. Even if they are out of range, the app can still help you by showing the last known location of the Airpods.

How To Locate The Missing Airpods

You can either sign in at iCloud.com or use the Find My iPhone app that will show your Airpods on a map if they are within the bluetooth range. The app basically shows you the location of your Apple devices on which you have signed in with the same Apple ID. In case the devices are not connected, it will show you the last time and date where they were online. You can look for the lost Airpods either on your computer or your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. In this blog, we’ll show you both methods.

On Your Computer

  • On your browser, go to iCloud.com

  • Sign in with your Apple ID.

  • Click on Find iPhone.

  • Click on All Devices and then select Airpods.

On Your iDevices

  • On your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, launch the Find My iPhone app.

  • Sign in with your Apple ID.

  • Tap on your Airpods icon.

If your Airpods are online, it will show their real-time location on Map. However, if they are not or they have ran out of power, you will see the time and place where they were last detected.
