Issues between testers and developers and the key point for healthy relationship between them

Understanding is the core thing for building good relationships. When it comes to testers and developers it becomes more interesting and important. All the members associated with software development have their own place in the team.

As a tester, I am not that much experienced but I have learned and understood the issues which testers and developers face. Testing and developing actually goes hand in hand. Nobody in the world is perfect, everybody has flaws. Once developers have developed the software, they pass it to testing team. If the developers were that much perfect in developing a bug-free software there would have been no need of QA team, which is not possible from the business point of view which is why there is a QA team in every department. QA team is having the responsibility to cross check or test the software with the intent of providing a quality product to the customer. Some of my developer's friends were discussing with me about the issues which they face with their testers which is quite funny as I am myself a tester. They told me their testers are report small bugs which are quite irritating for them to reopen the software again and again for fixing those bugs. One thing which I really want to clear is that “You can categorize the bugs according to the priority but can’t neglect them whether the bug is small or big.” so an “A bug is bug.”. The tester should also think from customer view of point. They have to consider even the small things which would give the opportunity to the client to reject the software. So the testers play very important role. Nobody wants to get the flaws in his/her baby, in the same way when the testers report the bugs to the developers they get irritated by getting flows in their code which is not a good thing. There should be a good relationship between them so that they can understand each other’s priority which helps in delivering a good quality product to the client.

How to have a healthy relationship between testers and developers:

1. If testers and developers are good friends so they share a good bond it doesn’t mean that they get busy in making their friendship strong by hiding each other's flaws but they should perform their task in a healthy way.

2.There should be the good understanding between testers and developers.

3.Work should be treated as responsibility, not as the burden.

Thanks
