Comcast Xfinity Roku App

Comcast, a leading telecom and pay-TV company has finally initiated the beta testings for its forthcoming TV app called Xfinity which is arriving soon on the Roku TV platform. It’s been almost a year since the company announced the Xfinity TV app. Apart from Roku, the app is also going to hit the Samsung TV app store later this year. But we can expect the app to make its debut on Roku app store pretty soon as the beta testings have already begun. A beta version of the Xfinity app is now available on the Roku channel store. However, the beta version is only available in US as of now.

More or less, the Xfinity is among the most awaited apps of this year since it’s going to bring several impeccable functions and some never-before-seen features. The app features an immersive guide with a detailed information of thousands of different movies and TV shows. Xfinity is embellished with stunning graphics, rich and intuitive UI. It enables the users to stream live and on-demand video programs including movies, TV shows, sports tournaments, trending news and loads more. Currently being in its beta stage, the app can be used to watch local broadcasts, public educational videos as well as some government channels. The users can also view their cloud DVR recordings.

What Else Do We Have?

With this app, Comcast aims to deliver the full in-home cable experience over its locally manages network. Unlike the QAM broadcast, it’s more like an IPTV network. The locally managed network of Roku also implies that the content that you stream on the app doesn’t go against the 1TB data cap provided by Comcast.

The development team from Comcast reveals that the tests are being carried out to check the overall performance of the app and many features are yet to be added before the final launch.
