Microsoft Launches A Machine Learning And AI Powered Selfie App

In a surprising move, Microsoft is investing in making camera apps specially tailored for ios devices. Last year, it launched a selfie-enhancing camera and then followed that up with “Microsoft Pix” on the App Store. But now developers of Microsoft have successfully created another fun camera app called “Sprinkles”. This shows the company is definitely testing out machine learning tools to get better results.

Sprinkles, a new iOS camera app from Microsoft, tries to change the image capturing game by adding captions and imagery directly atop your photos by detecting different objects.

Sprinkles targets mostly teenagers and offers a variety of traditional decorating tools.

It uses Microsoft's machine learning and Artificial intelligence capabilities to make sure you get the best pictures. It can do things like detecting faces, determining the age, adding emotions like if someone in your picture is laughing, Sprinkles is aware of the emotion on display, and can pull up a caption that suggests automatically, detecting your celebrity look-a-like as suggested “filters” for the image.
