Introduction to Rational Functional Tester tool

Rational Functional Tester is a software testing tool used to carry out automated regression testing. It provides a unique record, playback and scripting environment in Web and Java environment. Most of the time, it will work in Edit mode only. Recording and playback modes are significant as they are not passive about what you do with the Keyboard and mouse of your computer. Scripts can be quickly generated by simply recording tests against the application. RFT tool is next generation of functional testing automation tool from Rational. Java and VB.NET are being used as scripting language. To improve the test script resiliency in face of frequent application user interface changes, this tool includes ScriptAssure technology and pattern matching capabilities. It includes support for version control to enable parallel development of test scripts and concurrent usage by geographically distributed teams.
