How To Install tvOS 11 Public Beta On Your Apple TV

With this year’s keynote event approaching, the tvOS 11 release seems just around the corner and Apple is giving all it’s got to make it a success. After releasing numerous developer betas of the same, Apple has finally launched the first public beta of this long awaited Apple TV OS update. This means you will now be able to download and install the tvOS 11 beta even if you don’t have an active developer’s account. All you got to do is enroll your device for the Apple’s Beta Software Program. As it turns out, the process of enrolling your device for the beta program can be a little bit complicated as it requires a configuration profile that must be installed on your device.

Enrolling For The Beta Program

As already told, once you have enrolled your tvOS, mac or iOS device for the Apple’s Beta Software Program, you can instantly gain access to all the public beta versions released by Apple. By enrolling for the program, you become a public beta tester for Apple. You can complete the enrollment process on your Mac PC and then after signing in with your Apple ID, you’ll instantly gain access to all the available public betas.  

 

  • Launch the Safari app and go to beta.apple.com.

  • Sign in using your Apple ID credentials.

  • It will take you to the Agreement page. Read the agreement details and then click on Accept button at the bottom right.

  • That’s it! By clicking on Agree, you become a public beta tester of Apple and you can now download and install the public beta versions of various Apple releases.

 

How To Install tvOS 11 Beta On Apple TV

Once you have enrolled for Apple’s Beta Software Program, you can download and install the tvOS 11 public beta on your Apple TV streaming media player. You can do so by following these simple steps.

 

  • On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Accounts and sign in with your Apple ID credentials using Siri TV remote.

  • With the same Apple ID, sign in to your iTunes or iCloud account as well.

  • Now launch the settings app and go to System > Software Update > Get Public Beta Updates.  


By doing that, you enroll your Apple TV device to receive over-the-air updates of the available tvOS public betas. Finally, to download and install the tvOS 11 public beta, go to Settings > System > Software Update > Update Software.
